After a year of delays and no news of when it would release, Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp has finally received its official release date: April 21, 2023. For nearly a year fans have awaited any hints that the remastered bundle of the beloved turn-based strategy game would soon be brought out into the world, with Nintendo going quiet as to an answer. This has only led to a litany of rumors and speculation as to when it would be announced, especially in the last month. Thankfully, it seems the wait for Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is finally over

Announced back in 2021 for the Nintendo Switch, Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp, being developed by Wayforward Technologies, was due to be released on December 3rd, before being delayed to April 8th of 2022, only to be delayed indefinitely. Over the last few weeks, however, many who were looking forward to the game have spotted signs that hint at the bundle's release. The most prominent is the Nintendo store page for Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp updating out of the blue, which had led many to assume that the game would be re-announced to release soon, with the hope of a Nintendo Direct on the way.

During today's Nintendo Direct, there were many surprises to behold like Professor Layton and Ghost Trick returning, and even another trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Among those anticipated announcements, however, the hopes of many were fulfilled as Nintendo finally showed a card calling for players to brush up on their tactical skills, revealing a short trailer announcing the game's release date of April 21.

Accompanied by beautifully animated visuals, the colorful new trailer showed off some of the more prominent characters like Andy, Max, and Sami alongside many more. It then goes on to highlight some of Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp's many features, like the two full-story campaigns, the ability to design maps and share them with friends, and multiplayer.

This news was welcomed by many fans. Since the bundle was first announced, it had been met with much anticipation, only to be hit by a couple of delays. Just when it was set to release, Nintendo delayed the game indefinitely due to the war between Ukraine and Russia, without even a hint as to when it would come out, leaving many wondering when it might return. For Advance Wars to finally have a release date is a relief to many, for none knew what had become of it. With this recent announcement, many fears can finally be assuaged. Barring any more issues, it's safe to say that Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp will be arriving on Nintendo Switch very soon.
